Villa San Marco - Stabie, Italy

Stabiae, which lies only about 5 km. from Pompeii, was buried in the same eruption of Vesuviius that destroyed Pompeii, Herculaneum and Oplontis in A.D. 79. The more inportant finds from the site are now housed in the Antiquarium Stabiano in Castellammare di Stabia, which opened in 1957.
