Carlsbad Caverns

The story of Carlsbad Cavern began 250 million years ago with the creation of a 400-mile long reef in an inland sea that covered the region. Carlsbad Cavern is an incomparable realm of gigantic subterranean chambers, fantastic cave formations, and extraordinary features. Highly decorated and immense, the Big Room is 8.2 acres and would hold 14 Astrodomes. I should have included more people in the photos so you can get a sense of scale.
